Tul Volumes
2018 / Tulle / Project assistant: Lucas Elizondo
This project is a search for the manifestation of the beauty inherent in the airiness of the material.
The contrast between the cylindrical volumes and the nothingness of the tulle creates a contradicting perceptual experience that expands the depth of the space that they occupy. Rhythmic interactions of a wide range of colors, from faint to vibrant, highlight the lightness of the material and result in illusions of volume that expose more absence than presence.
The transparency of these pieces allow for the context to be visible through them, blending and interacting with the environment and acquiring an ethereal essence.
The outcome is a way of giving emptiness a shape through layers and volumes of vacuity.
